WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 8, 2010
READING: The class will learn about the naming part of a sentence (subject), review the short vowel sounds, real and fantasy, and synonyms. They will read the story Julius ( pgs. 40-62). The vocabulary words for the story are: crumbs, imitation, noise, slurped, and spread.
MATH: We are adding up to 18 and learning the double facts. Please review the basic addition and subtraction facts.
HEALTH: They will read about making good decisions.
SPELLING: The new words for next week are: wet, nut, job, leg, fan, went, mop, hug, from, any, at, and, red, up, block, and every. The pretest is on Thursday and the final is on Friday.
SOCIAL STUDIES: We are learning about geography.
SCIENCE: They will read how plants are grouped, about woodland plants, and plants that live near water.
HANDWRITING: They are reviewing the letters Ee and Ss.
REMINDERS
· Read daily
· Math addition facts test
· Spelling pretest is on Thursday and the final is on Friday
· No school on Monday, Labor Day
