Message from the Superintendent   Welcome to Bartelso School District No. 57!   The Bartelso School District No. 57 is located in Southern Illinois – approximately 40 miles south and east of St. Louis, MO.   Bartelso School is a wonderful school filled with professional educators and caring individuals who work together to ensure all students are successful.  We are proud of the numerous state and local achievements of our students and staff.  Our students regularly receive individual and team recognition in academic accomplishments.  Our standardized test scores are among the highest in Illinois and exceed most national standards.  In 2009, our students performed at the 98% level in both Math and Reading on the Illinois State Assessments Test.    We are fortunate to have very high student achievement due to strong parental involvement and our exceptional educators and staff.  As a school district, we are committed to ensuring success for all students in our programs and meeting their individual needs.  We must provide a solid Pre-K educational program for the 21st Century so that our students are prepared for their futures.   Bartelso School District No. 57 has established a “tradition” of being a family that includes faculty, staff, students, parents and the community which has built a solid foundation for “Excellence” in education.   I’m proud to be the superintendent at Bartelso School District No. 57, and I’m sure you will see why as you learn more about our district on this web site.   Karen K.
